Writing Successes: Finally posted at Themiscyra. Aimoo came up the day after my surgery, when I'd finally returned home. How wierd is that?

Music Playing: Loreena McKennitt, "The Book of Secrets".

So, here we are on the 'flip' side of large breasts. That's right. It's done and over with, and I'm already back online. Okay, not a lot. I keep falling asleep. But enough to blog for a minute. LOL.

Least fun part: Stick-the-pin-in-Deoris. I had a breast lump, you see. An adenoma, nothing big, no cancer or anything. Well, they were going to remove it when they did the reduction. In order to do that, they had to 'pinpoint' it. To do that, they took me to ultrasound and had me show it to them. Then they swabbed the area, stuck me with a needle full of novacaine and then threaded a very thin wire through there. Now, if you've had teeth pulled, you know novacaine is not a very subtle medicine. It works quickly, but it hurts. It's cold and hard. Now, imagine that going in your breast. Not fun. Then they had the ultrasound going the entire time they were poking me with the wire, which he was trying to poke through the lump and found he couldn't. So I got to SEE him doing that on the monitor screen. Very wierd. Finally, that was over.

I was taken to a waiting room, which was a semi-private room where I was just waiting to be called in to surgery. My stepmom brought her laptop and she, DH and I played a game of "LIFE" while we waited. (No, I didn't win, Sue did.) Anyhow, then the anethstegologist (sp) came in and shot me full of yummy things and my lights dimmed. LOL.

I remember entering the OR, it was cold and full of lots of equipment. Then the aneth. asked where I'd like to vacation. I said, "Turkey." He asked why there, and I mumbled something about Amazons, and took a nice inhale from the little yellow mask and that was it.

Next I know, there's a wad of family around, doing a kind of cheer. I held some hands, said some I loves yous...I really don't know. I went out and stayed out for a while.

Around 11pm, I asked the night nurse for some broth, cause I was starving and my head was spinning. He said sure. At 2am, I asked him again. He said sure. At 4am I asked the NEW nurse for it, and got some (finally), then passed out waiting for it to cool down. Ended up being fine. At six when I woke to drink it, it was still hot inside. Heck of a cup, they had there. They let me bring one home. LOL

I didn't eat breakfast, I was way nauseaus. Lunch was wolfed down. And dinner was very filling and at home. Slept a lot, really. The meds make me real tired. Which is good. I don't want to 'overdo' or anything.

I will say that they took 12 pounds out, all told. He said it wasn't quite a record, but it was sure close. He did end up removing the nipples (shiver) and reattaching them later, too. I'm not sure what that'll mean, but hey. Whatever.

Yes, it's a vast difference. If it shows how out of proportion my mind is, I look like an 'a' cup to me, not a dd. I mean, it's DINKY. But then I looked in the mirror and realized it's not that small, (not that I have a problem with small, I like small just fine) so I still am a large girl. Just not AS large.

Well, I'm going to go off now. I'll post more later, I'm sure. LOL.

Writing Successes: Wrote a fabulous post for Themiscyra. Can't put it up because sodding Aimoo is down. Has been for the last 12 hrs. So, my one thing to keep me busy today? Out to lunch.

Music Playing: KINK, "Lights Out" for about 20 minutes.

We're past the '24 hrs to go' mark. I check in at 10:45am tomorrow. There was a scheduling change because of the breast lump. They have to ultrasound that and the play "put-the-pin-in-Deoris". I'm very excited. (not)

Things I won't miss, the short (and sensible) list:

The Rash. Heat rash, that is. Constant, annoying, icky, gross. Not going to miss that. No siree Bob.

The Sweat. After removing the bra, skin against skin creates friction and no matter what I do, raises my temp at least 20 degrees causing me to sweat inordinately.

The Bra. While this bra is not a torture device, it does have straps made by the Devil. It always feels as if it's 2 sizes too small in several areas, in fact. And although I do need to wear it after surgery, I won't miss it once it's gone. If anyone would like to see what bra it is, click here. If you're a larger-sized gal, they are pretty and nice and well, they fit.

The Food. The leftovers I end up with on my shirt, to be specific. Right. down. the. front. Annoying, and usually red. I'll be able to scoot right up to tables now.

The Clothes. I won't miss not having a bathing suit, not having more than one shirt I fit into, not having to sit on the bed to pull on socks....lots of things. I won't miss hating to shop, either.

The Manhandling. In certain situations, I end up having to 'heave' myself around or on top of things. The desk, the bed, the dh, whatever. They're just always in the WAY, you know. I won't miss having to move them all the time, or even caring about where they are.

I think that's enough. I'm tired, and getting up in six hours for an overly early breakfast while I can still eat. I'll see you all on the smaller side of life. Two weeks or so.
