Bizarre Quiz of the Day:

Which Buff Girl Are You? Find out @ She's Crafty

And didn't shock me at all. There are more quizzes at that site I'm going to take, too. Keep your eyes open.

RANTS

Total sympathy for my friend Sal, who can't seem to move her website with any kind of dignity. Not her fault, totally Yahoo's. Apparently her domain name has been sold out from under her, and it doesn't even come due for another month. Keep up the good fight, Sal. Kick their butt.

Had a dream about "Dream Boy" (that sounded wierd) Tuesday. I can't remember a lot of it, but I do remember him. He followed me around, made a lot of sexual innuendo and comments, sly looks, that kind of thing. I avoided him, walked away a lot, and finally gave up and escaped outside just to be alone. He followed. I tried wandering off down the dock (it was at the coast for some reason) and off into the darkness, but he followed me there too. He caught up with me and kissed me. I was disappointed that I allowed it and woke very soon after feeling REAL bad.

It's so silly to feel guilty about a dream. Yet there it was. Spent most of yesterday feeling guilty about it, in fact. I suppose because that's where all of my trouble with Dream Boy starts, in dreams. Its like my subconscious can't give it up. It likes me to have a place where I am free to be with him, and he's free to be with me, and we're allowed to be happy together. Of course, we were never free or happy, really, even when we were both free and happy....becuase it was fake! Told myself to 'get a life' and watched Buffy and Smallville instead. ;)

I did the adult thing Monday night and watched a debate between Republican and Democrat Senate candidates. It was ugly and horrible. "Debate" wasn't the word for it. They either agreed with each other's stands, or they were so busy slinging mud they didn't see they were on the same side. I dunno. It seemed really pointless.

My two favorite parts were:

Gordon Smith, the current Republican senator looking to be re-elected, was asked about taxes (I think, I couldn't find it in the archives @ Kgw (see below)) and his wonderful response went something like this:

"A Hispanic woman approached me the other day, she said she knew I was a state senator. She asked if I knew the President. I said that I did, yes. She asked me to tell him that she got her $600 check and to thank him. It went a long way to making her life better." Now, that's not a direct quote, but it is darn close. And I am STILL laughing.

The other favorite was Bill Bradbury's exit. The Democratic incumbent, he's been the target of some smear ads and used most of the "debate" to bring that up repeatedly and damn Smith as a bad, bad man. During his final few moments, the man stand there slamming Smith over and over and over, not bothering to say one thing about the issues or his stands or anything. Just "Smith sucks for his mud slinging!" while slinging his own. It was pathetic.

Needless to say, I avoided last night's Governer's debate between Mannix and Kulongoski. They've been even worse.

And just now I went to kgw.com, the local station that has been hosting the debates. I wanted to link to the articles and people and all that. I have to sign up just to view it, which means if I try to link it probably won't work. What kind of stupid news station doesn't give you access to the news? If there's a link provided at this point, it worked without signing in.

And why don't the Libertarians, Socialists and Independants get to come to a debate? Okay, and the Constitution Party (Lon Mabon is running for Senate this time. (Side note to the side note, the picture they used was from one of his many court appearances, pardon the snarking noises)). I mean, can't they afford for KGW (the news station) to have them there, too? Not that I really need to hear Mabon's views on ....well, anything, really....but it would have been more fun than all the clear-cutting-on-my-own-private-land crapola.

Enough political rhetoric for the day. I'm sure the only who really appreciated much about that was Sal, anyhow. Well, and Theryn. Then again, who else reads this?

RAVES

Man, did I find an art site to die for. Least, for me. It had a variety of artists from around the turn of the century, and most of the work was about Greek and Roman gods and myths. It's very cool. I made some great PSP work out of it, not that I know what I'll do with them now, but they look great. Drop on over and take a gander. The site? Oh yeah...Art Magick.

I've been on a "find the story" hunt this week. Started out at NoNounSense, which hasn't changed in over six months, if you're wondering. I'm not sure what's up over there, but my guess is the site is fairly out of it. But my stories are still archived there, so I picked them up. Great fun wandering down memory lane.

Then yesterday someone asked for spooky stories for a contest. Since I have one I like (but it has problems) I went looking for it. I knew only one place it could be. iVillage archives.

So I bit my tongue, swallowed my pride and went back into time. Found it, too, guessed nearly right on the first time. 2000 sure doesn't seem that long ago, and yet it sure was. There was so much comeraderie and comments and posts and everyone all supporting each other, but with some good critique comments. Posts of stories from Theryn, Sal, JAM and SUZANNE and Erin and Tawny and Ozarker and... I got a little lost, to say the least.

My favorite comment about the Halloween story I wrote was from, of course, Jessica. "What's a rock hotel?" I'm sorry. How can you not know what that means? It's a hotel made of ROCK. See, what I really meant was it was where Elvis was living.....honestly.

Then I kept going and picked up three other stories. The best of which was "Photographs". Man, how can I NOT have a copy of THIS story here on my hard drive? I bookmarked the page, in fact, because the comments I got on that story were glorious. Even Jessica had NOTHING bad or cutting to say, in fact, every word was glowing. From everyone. Made me cry, in fact. It was just an awesome thing to see.

And that was the last story I posted. Because I was fired two boards later. And, just for all you curious folks, there's a gap on that board. It goes from post 50 to 67 or something. I'm LOL over it. If you want to see, go right ahead.

Which is all I'm going to say today. I might even blog again this week. I've still got my Pagan Speak to do this month, for example. Keep your sword sharp!

Herete!
