Okay, okay....so our son turned 15 this last year and is headed toward 16. He's rather eager to drive, but his grades SUCK...so we haven't allowed him to get a permit. Jeff, however, has allowed him to drive a little ways down the street, since our road is very quiet, and back out of the drive, that kind of thing. This morning, he lets him start the car for the first time.

Last week, I went to start the car and found that I couldn't. See, the car's a stick and I didn't have the clutch in, so it wouldn't start. I know literally *zip* about manual transmissions, right? Jeff figured this same thing would happen to Pat.

He's standing in the office, watching out the window while I'm in the desk chair, trying to sleep because I'm totally ill and couldn't sleep laying down.....we hear the car start up. It hums to life, squeals, and slams into the house!

Okay, okay...it didn't slam into the house. Why? It was stopped by Nikki's freezer! The freezer is what actually slammed against the house. But thank goodness for that freezer, or there'd be a car in my computer! Yes, yes, I did scream.

Our little 'buckets' of strawberry plants are wasted, and there's a HUGE dent in the freezer, which is bending forward just a tad now. The boy was fine, the car is fine, but I think Nikki got the short end of the stick.

Just had to tell someone. :)
