I'd like to just say first of all that Blogger needs to settle on a format. It's freaky to go to post and have it suddenly all wierd. Although I must say this isn't as bad as the last one. I can read what I'm typing, and it has a spellcheck.

I've been diagnosed with Meniere's Disease. This is a temporary diagnosis while my MRI pictures are being examined. I should know more on Monday.

Basically, I've been having a dizzy spell since Wednesday a week ago. By "spell" I mean I have literal waves of vertigo and spinning sensations kind of pulsing through my head all day long. It's been REAL fun.

The best way I can describe it is that it's like having had WAY too much to drink and you're on the edge of passing out, but you aren't far enough gone to actually pass out yet. Okay, maybe that's NOT the best way.

Meniere's has no cure because they aren't really positive what causes it to start up. It just begins. They don't know how to stop it either. They have suggestions to lessen the attacks (which I hope begin working SOON) and to deal with the attacks on a daily basis.

To this end, I have begun lowering my salt intake to about 2000mg a day. If you know anything about me, this is just a horrible punishment. I love salt and salted foods of just about every kind. Yes, including anchovy's. Reducing your salt intake means no chips, nothing pickled, nothing smoked, no seaweed, no soy sauce, no....lots of things I eat. Then I discover that just about everything has salt in it in some form. Milk, eggs, bread, butter, SALAD....it's insane. But I'm making the effort, anyhow.

As mentioned, I had an MRI today. Talk about a nasty experience! I thought I would do all right, and I did if I do say so. However, I wanted out of there...bad.

If you haven't had one or don't know what one is...you lay on your back on a table with earplugs in and speakers on (it's really loud). Then they put a little cage over your face and slide you backward into a tube. To describe the smallness of the tube, I could have touched the top with my forehead if I'd been able to move my neck and it squashed my shoulders. Then you get to lay there...perfectly still....for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, they pull you out and poke you with a needle to shoot dye into your head and "light it up", then shove you back in the tube for another 10 minutes or so.

I was all right for a while, then my back started to ache. I don't lay on my back...habits from when I had enormous boobs. (They would choke me or make me feel like I was being smothered, and they'd hurt, so I just don't lay like that anymore.) Now, they did put a pillow under my legs (from the knees down), so I did some pelvic tilts to alleviate the pain. Then my shoulder started cramping. Then my foot fell asleep. By the time the 20 minutes were over, I was DONE. The last 10 were just nasty. I wanted to RUN out of there and just call it all off.

Well, more later. I am fine, by the way. Just dizzy and nauseous a lot. *sigh*

PS: My comments script isn't working right now. I'll work on it.
